Whatever Heats Your Home, We Fix It
Not every house around here is heated the same way, and that's the point. A lot of HVAC companies are really furnace companies...meaning, they'll happily fix your forced-air system, but if you've got hot water heat, they'd rather not get involved. We're not built that way. We repair:
In-floor radiant heat
The tubing, the manifolds, and the boiler that feeds them
If you already know what you have and what's wrong with it, the links above will take you straight there. If you don't, that's fine. Call us and we'll figure it out.
When Your Heat Goes Out
Here's what usually brings people to this page:
- No heat at all - The system won't fire, or it fires and nothing happens
- Not enough heat - It's running, but the house isn't getting warm
- Some rooms are cold and others aren't - This is usually a distribution problem, and the cause depends entirely on what kind of system you have
- The system runs constantly - OR cycles on and off every few minutes
- Strange noises that weren't there last winter
- Energy bills climbing without a matching change in the weather
- The thermostat isn't controlling anything the way it should
Any of these are worth a call. Heating problems rarely fix themselves, and in this climate they tend to get worse at exactly the wrong time.
If you smell rotten eggs or sulfur, that could be a gas leak. Get out of the house and call us or your gas utility right away.
How We Diagnose Across Different Systems
The honest truth is that "no heat" means something completely different depending on what's producing the heat.
On a furnace, we're looking at ignition, gas flow, the blower, and the heat exchanger. On a boiler, we're looking at circulator pumps, zone valves, pressure, and whether the water is actually moving where it's supposed to. On a heat pump, we're looking at refrigerant, reversing valves, and defrost cycles. On radiant floor heat, we're often chasing down which loop or zone stopped working.
Our job is to find out what your system actually is, what it's actually doing, and what actually failed. We then tell you, give you a number, and let you decide. There's never pressure to have us repair.
Our Approach
We service any heating system, regardless of who installed it. Any brand, any type. We're licensed throughout McLeod County.
One exception: we don't repair oil-burner systems. We will replace them, converting older oil setups to efficient LP or natural gas.
Family-owned. Brian and his sons do the work. When you call, you're getting the people whose name is on the truck, and they're who you call back if something isn't right.
Honest assessments. If your system has years left in it, we'll say so. If it's time to think about replacing it, we'll say that too, and give you the numbers both ways.
Repair, or Time for Something New?
If your system is old and facing a significant repair, that's worth an honest conversation rather than a reflexive fix. We'll lay out what a repair costs versus what a replacement costs, and what each buys you.
Depending on what you have, here's where to go next:
- Furnace replacement
- Boiler replacement & high-efficiency upgrades
- Heat pump replacement
