What Skipping Maintenance Actually Costs You
Most people skip a heating tune-up because nothing seems wrong. Here's what's quietly happening while it sits un-serviced:
It fails when you need it most. Heating systems fail under load, usually during the coldest stretch, not on a mild day. A fall tune-up finds the weak part while your house is still warm and we can get to you, instead of on a below-zero night when we're slammed.
Efficiency slips, and you pay for it all winter. A neglected system works harder to produce the same heat, and in a Minnesota heating season that inefficiency shows up on every month's bill.
Small problems become expensive ones. A worn part caught early is a cheap fix. Ignored, it can take out something major or leave you with no heat and an emergency call.
Your warranty may depend on it. Many manufacturers require documented annual maintenance to keep the warranty valid. Skip it, and a covered repair may not be covered anymore.
