Boiler Repair
If your boiler is making strange noises, leaking, or not putting out heat, we diagnose and fix a wide range of issues. Common problems we resolve:
- Loss of heat or hot water
- Low pressure or unusual banging, gurgling, or knocking noises
- Faulty thermostats, zone valves, or circulator pumps
- Radiators or floor zones not heating evenly
- Pilot light, ignition, or pressure-relief issues
We service any boiler regardless of who installed it, and we're licensed throughout McLeod County. If you're not sure whether your system is worth repairing, see the repair-vs-replace question in our FAQ below. We'll give you the honest math and can help you walk through your options.
A note on oil systems: We don't service oil-burner boilers, but we do replace them. We can convert older oil systems over to clean, efficient LP or natural gas.
Boiler Replacement & High-Efficiency Upgrades
A lot of the boilers we see in this area (especially around Glencoe) are 1980s and 1990s units, which are now 30 to 40 years old. They still run, but they're a fraction as efficient as what's available today, and parts get harder to find every year.
Time to replace?
When it's time to replace, we specialize in upgrading these older systems to modern equipment:
- High-efficiency condensing wall-hung boilers - Compact, wall-mounted units that reclaim heat that older boilers send up the flue. These are designed to cut fuel use significantly.
- Combination units - A single unit that handles both your home heating and your hot water. This is designed to save space and simplify the system.
- Right-sized system design - We size the system to your actual space and heating load not a rule of thumb. This way, you're not paying to over or under heat your home.
We install boilers from brands like Rinnai, along with Thermolec electric units, and we build our systems with quality components from trusted names like Watts. Every replacement includes full system setup, testing, and a walkthrough so you know how your new system works before we leave.

In-Floor Radiant Heat
Heated floors warm a home through radiant heat, where the warmth rises evenly from the ground up. There is no blowing air or cold spots. In-floor heating runs on hot water from a boiler, and we specialize in boiler installation and sizing.
We primarily install hydronic radiant floor heating in new construction. This is done by laying tubing into the slab before the concrete is poured. We do a lot of this in garages, shops, and large open spaces, where a warm floor makes an otherwise hard-to-heat building genuinely comfortable to work in all winter.
How we install it
Lay the tubing
We run PEX tubing in loops across the insulated subfloor, spaced and zoned for even heat across the whole space.
Manifold and pressure test
Every loop connects back to a manifold. Before any concrete is poured, we pressure-test the system. If there's ever a problem, we find it now, not after it's sealed under a slab.
Zone it for the space
Larger buildings get multiple manifolds and multiple loops, each feeding a different area. This is done so you can heat the whole shop evenly, or dial in zones independently.
Connect to the boiler and commission
The loops tie back to the boiler, and we test the full system before the space goes into service.
Preventative Boiler Maintenance
A boiler that's maintained runs more safely, costs less to operate, and lasts years longer. A seasonal tune-up from our team includes:
- Safety and pressure checks
- Cleaning of internal components
- Inspection of valves, vents, and connections
- Flue and gas-leak testing
- Efficiency and performance optimization
Catching a small issue in the fall is a lot cheaper than a no-heat call in January.
